It all started with a dozen fertile eggs purchased from the grocery store.
The eggs were incubated under a lamp and kept at 100 degrees being turned every day for even heat distribution.
Lo and behold!

2 eggs hatched. With a candle you could see that 3 were growing, but one died before hatching. Of the 2 that hatched, one chick made it. Thus, the evolution of "Harry Potter", the chick who lived.
Eagerly anticipating one day having a hen to lay eggs the Voyageurs looked on.
Harry Potter grew and grew. But then to their dismay something else started happening...
Harry grew a spur on his heel and seemed to be roosting. Perhaps a foreshadowing from his name...
And then the crowing began and continues to this day. Alas, Harry is not a hen at all.
But he is the rooster that lived. Well, at least for a little longer...gulp.
