Blackberries At Sausal Creek (Dimond Park)

Had a fantastic time today picking ripe blackberries thanks to a tip from Kim. It was a great time and very relaxing leisurely walking and listening to the sound of running water. It's amazing to know that there is such a wild place deep in the heart of Oakland. I ended up with 2 pounds of blackberries that made for some tasty scones and blackberry bread - sorry guys, I think I might have cleaned out the creek! ;)
It's really worth the time if you can make it.

Thanks for the kind words Kim and Oletta. Here's a link to the recipe (in the Recipies Group). I wish it was mine, but it's one originally from Allrecipies.com that was modified for blackberries. Sure worked out to be tasty! :)

Yay, I'm glad your hunt was successful.  Don't worry, there will be just as many ripe ones in a few days.

Those look mighty tasty. I hope you post the recipe for those of us that may be lucky enough to find our own treasure trove of blackberries (or rasberries) before the season is over.
