Morels in downtown Oakland

I was walking to lunch in downtown Oakland and came across morels growing in some woodchips.  There weren't too many but still exciting to find!

"I've gone morel hunting before but that was back in the Midwest.  I'm probably going to go camping in a burn area where I can also do some fly fishing.  I just have to do a little research on where to go. "

Hi Rodney, guess I haven't been out enough to find Chanterelles.  Been focusing more on fishing lately. I haven't looked for Morels much in California.  Have you done it before?  Where are you planning to look for them?  They like burn areas.  I heard one of the mushroom clubs are planning a trip for the Sierra's soon.  It might be nice to join them.
