I went out yesterday in Oakland and found a bunch of older chanterelles but not many fresh ones have popped up yet. I'm thinking next week should be better. I'll let you know how next week goes.

Morels in downtown Oakland
I was walking to lunch in downtown Oakland and came across morels growing in some woodchips. There weren't too many but still exciting to find!

- Hi Rodney, guess I haven't been out enough to find Chanterelles. Been focusing more on fishing lately. I haven't looked for Morels much in California. Have you done it before? Where are you planning to look for them? They like burn areas. I heard one of the mushroom clubs are planning a trip for the Sierra's soon. It might be nice to join them.
