pecked eggs

Hedwig our australorp keeps pecking her eggs and is sometimes laying in the yard not box. I have 3 chickens and 3 lay boxes. Can't figure out what's going on with her. I tried putting in a egg shaped stone which hasn't really helped. Anyone have any suggestions?
