I have been thinking about upgrading to food grade barrels and getting a first flush diverter kit that would drain away the first few gallons of dirty water that initally comes off the roof. Put that in your preparedness kit!

65 Gallon, all ready to go.
They're $45, which I think is a deal. I made a rain barrel out of a white 55 gallon plastic barrel and it probably cost me about that much in the end, for the barrel plus parts.
